I am a Brisbane-based artist that explores personal memories and experiences of the everyday. I am particularly interested in how repetitive actions are an integral component of the everyday, the generation of knowledge, identity and heritage. As a scientist I have observed that my own physical actions via repetitive experimentation inform my thinking. I employ a variety of techniques and media which include drawing, printing, sculpture and video.

Throughout her childhood Jeanette was constantly surrounded by a wide variety of traditional crafts, such as sewing and needlecraft that both her mother and grandmother introduced to her. She often references these craft techniques and materials in her artwork. Jeanette also works as a research scientist and lecturer at the University of Queensland, which additionally has a considerable influence on her art. She has had the opportunity to live in both the US and the UK during her career as a scientist. She completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Queensland College of Art, Brisbane in 2016.
