Embroideries are often valuable to us primarily because of who created them; they are cherished heirlooms. These physical items are passed on to us, just as character traits are passed down to us by our parents, traits that are both learnt and genetic. Heredity explores the both the inherent change that occurs through generations, while simultaneously reflecting on the patterns and characteristics that remain.
